Hello lovelies,
I'm Sharni Haines from South Australia and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Design Team's monthly blog hop. Every month we have a new challenge or theme. You are more than welcome join us! You can find us on the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group where we show and share our love of scrapbooking and have the monthly themes where you can join in the blog hop.
Today's theme is what a traditional Christmas looks like to me.
Some people celebrate Christmas every year with the same theme, colours, tree decorations and so on. I love that! It means it's easy to pull out the decoration boxes and know exactly what you are going to do. I really wish sometimes (well, every year), that I did the same! Instead, I change and mix up my themes every year...some years I focus on a 'Winter Wonderland'...which seems too funny considering it can get quite hot here in South Australia around Christmas time! Other times, I go for a white theme...white trees, silver burbles, with maybe a splash of pink with lots and lots of gnomes!
This year, I am trying to achieve a Woodland look with deer, natural and faux green folliage and a simple silver with touches of red.
Anyway, back to my scrapbook page...my 'traditional Christmas' would be different every year, but the feeling however is always of delight and I try to bring a little magic into the air.
I decided to design a page that reflects a mix of all the colours I like to use every year and make use of the pretty Christmas paper I had in my stash.
So here is my completed page, a bright happy mix of my Christmas colours including a bit of foliage. It actually reminds me of sampler page even though this was not my intention!
I haven't added photos to this one yet because I am going to add picks from this year's Christmas.
I will likely add more embellishments about once I have the photos in place, the idea is to add a photo to each square. (Except maybe the middle one...and maybe not over the Christmas tree)!
I already have on photo I think I'd like to add....
My sister Kylie! She is visiting from Bendigo for a few weeks to spend with friends & family. Here she is wrapping secret Santa gifts in my craft room! Isn't it cute?
Oh I nearly forgot to include what products I used....
the deers are from Grove Dies
wreath is from Country Wreaths
Celebrate is from Wanted to Say Dies
tree from Merriest Trees Bundle
foliage from Gorgeously Made Dies
DSP I used bits from Joy of Christmas, Merry Bold & Bright, Winter Meadow.
Well, that's all from me for now. I hope you have a wonderful time over the Christmas period and enjoy the company of your friends & family.
Thanks for joining me, don't stop here...keep on hopping around the world to see what everyone else has created using this sketch. I can't wait to see myself.
Here is the list of everyone participating in today's hop....please visit everyone as I know there will be some gorgeous scrapbook designs. To see where you are, I am highlighted in Yellow. Next up is the talented Julia.
Thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful day and take care.
hugs,
Sharni. x
