Hello lovelies,
I'm Sharni Haines from South Australia and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Design Team's monthly blog hop. Every month we have a new challenge or theme. You are more than welcome join us! You can find us on the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group where we show and share our love of scrapbooking and have the monthly themes where you can join in the blog hop.
This month we are creating a page with a Grid Pattern Theme brought to you by Julia Quinn!
I am still in the workshop with this one (not quite finished)!....I had made my page but I pulled it apart and had to start again with no time to spare!!! I will now continue with my page, and add the completed project very soon.
I made my own 'grid pattern' with a Boho Blue Stampin' Write Marker. To achieve the Boho Blue background,I simply brushed the whole ink pad over the 12 x12" White Cardstock.
I mounted and stamped onto Boho Blue Cardstock then did a little sewing (it's hard to tell I actually come from a family of amazing sewers)! Clearly I missed that gene. lol
I die cut flowers from the Paper Florist Dies to add a bit of interest to the page and break up the blue.
The sequins are - Neutrals Adhesive Backed-Sequins and come in 4 metallic colours....so pretty.
I stamped a few pieces of BoHo Blue Cardstock with Night of Navy using the Greatest Journey Stamp Set.
The Olden letters were die cut from Alphabet A La Mode Dies (Crumb Cake Cardstock was adhered to some Adhesive Foam, then die cut). This makes the letters sit up nice and high on the page.
You may see some of the Natural Wavy Trim Ribbon I have added to some places.
I added a sprinkle of Matte Black Dots over the page...I absolutely love these dots!
I felt the background was a little too strong, so I slipped a sheet of Vellum underneath the photos.
So this is my completed page (second edition, lol)!
Here is the list of everyone participating in today's hop....please visit everyone as I know there will be some gorgeous scrapbook designs. To see where you are, I am highlighted in Yellow. Next up is Stasia ...
Thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful day and take care.
hugs,
Sharni. x

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your background idea! Not just the ink to paper but the free hand grid pattern - genius! I will definitely be CASing this idea on a future project. Thanks for sharing your beautiful layout!
What a lovely layout to showcase your holiday photos. I love this colour scheme and actually have a WIP on my desk in similar colours - what a classic combo!
what a lovely page to highlight some of your beautiful photos from your trip. xx
Love the grid drawing in the background - you're so clever making something so artistic out of what is essentially geometry!! Totally love the colours and the layering and the textures. The paper flowers look amazing in white too!! Love it all.
Sharni, Your layouts always AMAZE me with the techniques that you use and do for your scrapbooking layouts... I never think to make my pages inky or use my markers on them to create my very own backgrounds. LOL about the sewing gene, clearly I missed that gene too... Love all the layers of elements on your page... Cannot wait to see the finished product. Mine is still a work in process too, with a title needed and some embellishments. So glad to see you back creating for our hops.
Cheers Shaz
