Hello lovelies,
welcome to my Sweet & Simple Sunday Cards...except, today happens to be Monday!(I know, I did it again! Maybe I should just make it Sweet & Simple Mondays.
Every Sunday I will (try to) showcase some lovely quick and easy cards that I have designed and created. Hopefully give you some ideas how to create some quick cards for yourself.
This week I have used the new Forever Fern Stamp Set (page 108) from the new catalogue which will be released June 3.
This stamp set is part of a lovely suite called Forever Greenery and it comes with some beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP), Dies, Embossing Folders, Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper, Gold Hoops Embellishments and ribbons.
I couldn't resist, for my preorder, I got the lot! So, you may understand how hard it was for me NOT to include anything but the stamps in my projects!! LOL
There is something a little extra special about this stamp set, they are called Distinktive Stamps because the images have a 3D effect with the use of shading built into the impressions. The images seem to come alive with more interest and depth.
I wanted to try our ALL of the images of the leaves, and try them with different colours.
These leaves remind me of some plants native to Australia. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. The rectangle is from Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
Every card base is Thick Whisper White and I stamped on a seperate piece of normal Whisper White cut a few cm/inches smaller than the card base and adhered to the base once stamped.
I think this is my favourite card. I just repeatedly stamped the same image over and over again. I used a post it note to mask over the stem part of the image so the individual plants look like one continuous plant.
I also tried these images in non traditional colours too. I don't think you can stamp any simpler than this! But I was happy with the finished cards and effects. They were indeed very quick and very easy.
In fact, I made enough of these cards to send one to every person who has booked into my next online Zoom Card Class in a few weeks. So, if that is you, you can expect one in the mail with your card kit very soon!
