Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop August 2023 - Sketch

Hello lovelies,

I'm Sharni Haines from South Australia and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Design Team's monthly blog hop. Every month we have a new challenge or theme. You are more than welcome join us! You can find us on the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group where we show and share our love of scrapbooking and have the monthly themes where you can join in the blog hop.

Today's theme was brought to you by yours truly. I love to use Sketches for some Scrapbook layouts and it can be quite motivating for others too.

This month it is my turn to choose a theme and I decided to create a page using a Sketch.

Here is the sketch I have chosen.

Perhaps you can already tell what this page is about? Let me talk you through it how I made it. The background Basic White 12 x 12" Cardstock was coloured with Bubble Bath Ink - I ran the whole ink pad over the sheet like I did with my previous scrapbook page from last month. This is a fast and easy way to create a background that co orientates with the rest of your chosen colours.

I used the Cheerful Daisies Dies to cut out some large daisies using Basic White Cardstock, the smaller daises are from the Dainty Delight Dies. The Bubble Bath frames you can see with the 'stitching' around the edges are from Radiating Stitches Dies.

There is a lot of PINK on this page, and now you can see why! My cousin Michelle & her youngest - 6 month old son, Joshua and I went to see Barbie the Movie!

It was so funny and brought back some fond childhood memories.

If you look close enough, you may see a stamped font from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. This is my go to 'arty' stamp set. I also used the ink splotches image with Melon Mambo & Pebbled Path.

I did go all out with this page ...lol. After all, it is Barbie! The half circles and large hearts are also from the Radiating Stitches Dies. You can see tiny hearts - from a retire heart boarder punch, and some Pearls (Basic Pearl Jewels) as well as some gold sequins that I have used to embellish the page.

I really enjoyed creating this page, so much so that I decided to frame it!

I did forget to mention the Basic Boarder Dies - you can see them in the Melon Mambo Cardstock (hot pink), running along side of the framed photo. And the letters Barbie were die cut from a retired set - Lettered Prose Dies, these just matched the theme the best.

The darker paper flowers are from my craft stash.
