Because I believe we need each other right now more than ever and even if we physically can't be together, the bonds and support we create for ourselves and the support and love that we can share makes a wonderful sense community and feeling of belonging to something bigger than ourselves. Being part of this awesome team for example, makes me feel I matter and that I belong. I hope you too have such connections and support from others.

I literally had an hour to whip something up today, take all the photos, edit them and write this blog!!(feeling very naughty and disorganised!)...but I did it!
The layout and design for my page came very quickly and spontaneously - I utilized pretty much what was right in front of me at the time!
All morning I was playing with the new Gilded Leafing from the 2021 Mini Catalogue,(this goes live in January) I had stuff everywhere, then after making a heap of cards (and mistakes) I realised it was time to get on with the scrapbook page and I was late.
I grabbed some black 12x12" cardstock and gilded the edges using VersaMark, Heat & Stick Powder and finally the lushious gold foil. OOOh it was such fun! I needed photos to work with for the design - the first ones I found on my desk which looked good with the black and gold were some Halloween shots from my Halloween parties I held last year with my class craft ladies.
I used the Ghoulish Goodies Stamp Set and embossed the images with Gold and Black Embossing Powder.
The photos were matted onto Gold Foil. I also added the gilded leafing to some pieces of white cardstock and the black cardstock.
The technique is the same as embossing, you stamp an image or rub the VersaMark over the paper, sprinkle on the Heat & Emboss Powder which is like embossing Powder only it stays tacky longer. Then heat up the powder just enough to melt it and then brush over the Gilded leafing which is like 'air' it's so light. You then rub off the excess leaf and it's done.
To get the gold leaf in the middle of the page, I used a paint brush and the VersaMark Refill ink - I painted the ink onto the page and did the same process as mentioned above.

Well that was a super quick page! Am I over the moon about it? Well let's just say, I'm wrapped I made it on time!! AND I made the brief "Togetherness" as this event (Halloween) is one of the best times of the year to be surrounded by a group of fabulous and talented crafty ladies and friends.
