Welcome lovelies to the first Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop for 2020!!This month's theme is very appropriately themed New Beginnings chosen by the lovely Cynthia McQueen.
I'm Sharni from Australia, you may have started here or just come from the gorgeous and talented Sharon Dalton!
New beginnings can mean a lot of things to a lot of people, the new year has brought fresh and exciting ideas and challenges for myself and my crafting career. I have spent many hours, days, months thinking about what I want and changes that need to be made to achieve my new goals.
This is not an easy thing to capture in a photograph! As you will see, the photo I have chosen for this theme is symbolic to me because it was taken at the start of 2020 (January 4) during my first card class for the year (we were enjoying Devonshire Tea after our card making session).
One of my dearest friends Michelle (pictured with me) has helped me on my crafting journey over the past 5 years and continues to be my sounding board, adviser, motivator and amazing supporter. So it only seems fit to have her in my 'New Beginnings' scrapbook page!
I basically used the Peaceful Poppies Suite for this page. The flowers were cut out with the dies in the Peaceful Moments Bundle using Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party & Whisper White Cardstock.
The numbers I cut out some DSP using the Large Number Framelits. (retired) You can see I did a little sewing around the edges of some of the papers.
I also added some of the push out (pre cut) images from the Peaceful Poppies Elements, one image is sitting next to my journaling.
The letters were cut from the Hand Lettered Prose Dies with Night of Navy. I was happy with the end result, a crisp and clean finish...and I am loving the versatility of these poppy dies!
