Shabby Chic Card using Deckled Rectangle Dies

Hello lovelies,

I have a fun and free tutorial for you today! How to create a Shabby Chic Card. There are of course absolutely no rules how to make one, but sometimes it's nice to get a basic idea or follow a particular technique and use it over and over again using different products or colours over even different embellishments or mediums.

I am a Shabby Chic gal from way back...I have even 'Shabby Chicked' most of my house in one way or another! So,it's no surprise that I happen to LOVE making Shabby Chic cards.

I made this card for a special friend with absolutely no intention of sharing it with anyone, but since it's made with 99% Stampin'Up! products, I decided to share and even show you how I created it.

First I die cut 5 layers of Cardstock using the Deckled Rectangle Dies. From largest to smallest rectangle - Blushing Bride, Basic White, Gray Granite, Rings of Love DSP (from Sale-A-Bration) & top layer is Basic White. The card base is a normal Thick Basic White card.

Every layer was distressed with a Bone Folder or my Snips and sponged with Crumb Cake Ink. You can just see a little bit of font script stamped on the top layer - this is from a retired stamp set, but you can easily replace this with another stamp that has a nice script.

(The pink flowers came from my craft stash, but I have made a tutorial how to create your own flowers using Stampin'Up! Cardstock - HERE).

If you look close you will see all the pretty embellishments I used - For Everything Fancy Sequins, Pearl Hearts & Sprig Trinkets.

For Everything Fancy Sequins - you get 3 different colours in one box. Personally, I think this is a fab deal!

The leaves were cut from the Aspen Tree Die, I love how they imprint the leaves veins. I added a little bit of Pear Pizzazz Ink with a Blending Brush to give more dimension before adding to the card.

You may just make out the oval die cut shape in Basic White - this is from Fabulous Frames Dies. I cut the shape out 3 times and adhered them all together with Mini Dimensionals and then sponged Crumb Cake ink around the edges.

You can find all the products I used at the very end of this blog.

You can create this quite easily yourself, or something similar by following my quick tutorial video below.

Have fun watching and please let me know how you go if you make your own, I'd love to see!

Well, that's all from me for now, thanks so much for dropping by, have a wonderful day and keep on crafting!

Take care,

Hugs Sharni. x
